We’re now looking for an organised, detail driven Bookkeeper to join our growing team.

The Role

As a Bookkeeper, you will play a key role in supporting a diverse portfolio of clients across Worcester and the surrounding area. You’ll be responsible for accurate, timely bookkeeping services and acts as a trusted point of contact for day to day client queries.

This role would suit someone who enjoys client interaction, thrives in a small business environment, and takes pride in delivering high quality work.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for a portfolio of small business clients
• Process purchase and sales invoices, receipts, and payments
• Perform bank, credit card, and control account reconciliations
• Prepare and submit VAT returns
• Assist in the preparation of management accounts
• Maintain digital records in line with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements
• Liaise directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
• Support the wider accounting team as needed during peak periods
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal procedures
• Use cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous bookkeeping experience within practice or industry
• Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping
• Confident preparing VAT returns and reconciliations
• Knowledge of cloud accounting software (Xero preferred)
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong communication skills and a client focused approach
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines

Desirable:

• AAT Level 2 or above (or working towards)
• Experience working within an accountancy practice
• Understanding of MTD VAT processes
