Head of Financial Management

Nuneaton 67.1K - 77.3K Hybrid/Remote working Permanent

Job Reference: 12110KR

In 2017 a ‘Foundation Group’ was created in partnership with South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT) and Wye Valley NHS Trust (WVT), which was later joined by George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust (GEH) in 2018. All three organisations face similar challenges and have a common strategic vision for how these can be solved.

The Foundation Group model retains the identity of each individual trust whilst strengthening the opportunities available to secure a sustainable future for local health services. There are numerous benefits for local communities across both counties, including the provision of a wider platform to share best practice and improving whole system patient pathways. A Chief Executive is shared by all three Trusts, with Managing Directors in post whom are responsible for each individual organisation.

There is now an exciting opportunity to join the George Eliot Hospital Trust as Head of Financial Management.

The Head of Financial Management will provide a comprehensive Finance Business Partnering service to Directorate Management teams within the Trust, enabling the efficient management of their resources whilst also supporting the Deputy Director of Finance with financial and strategic issues, financial reporting, planning, forecasting and advisory, at a Trust wide level to Directors and the Board, and deputising where necessary.

Having recently been awarded a place in the top five Trusts in the UK for most improved culture, the Head of Financial Management will be joining a very supportive and friendly team who are committed to ensuring each and every person feels respected and valued, celebrating differences and encouraging a workplace and culture where all can thrive.

Candidates will be fully CCAB qualified with evidence of extensive continuing professional development combining management and technical skills relevant to these roles. Good numeracy and technical accounting skills and the ability to present complex information to senior stakeholders and non-financial colleagues is a key part to the Head of Financial Management role, as is the ability to influence decisions where there might be conflicting opinions. We are ideally seeking candidates who have extensive financial management and business partnering experience from within the NHS, or an equally large public sector organisation.
