CY Executive Resourcing are excited to be working with a visionary NHS Trust in the Midlands, as they look to recruit an Income Accountant.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the production of Service Line Reporting (SLR) and the National Cost Collection using the Patient Level Costing System (PLICS), and will also assist in completing the monthly accounting processes for patient care income.

Key responsibilities:

  • Liaising with relevant organisational managers across the Trust to develop, produce and analyse high quality Finance and Activity data that can be used to develop and transform clinical services
  • To be proactive in identifying potential cost and service improvements
  • To manage the regular production of activity information and to provide expert advice, support and resolutions for any related queries
  • To proactively provide Planning and Contracting advice and support to a range of staff within Finance and across the Trust
  • Support on the development of Financial Business Intelligence Reports/Dashboards to be shared with the wider trust to help inform decisions on improving patient care and ensuring financial sustainability
  • Investigate queries, locating items in computer and manual systems
  • Ensure SLAM is updated and reported on in line with national timelines
  • Support the divisions in understanding the interdependencies of activity, cost, and income for in year monitoring and for the business planning process
  • Maintain a full contract and income register for the trust
  • Identify and develop areas of cross function integration e.g. PLICS system integration with ledger system and SLAM
  • Produce and distribute varying monthly reports in a timely and efficient manner
  • To accurately maintain costing and activity information

Applicants should be highly motivated individuals who thrive working in fast-paced environments and are able to work to strict deadlines. Prior experience in an Income role in the NHS is essential, along with a strong understanding of Payment by Results (PbR) and the ability to handle large volumes of complex data.

Candidates should ideally be fully qualified, however part qualified candidates may also be considered.

This is a hybrid role, requiring up to 2 days per week on site in the West Midlands.
