Assistant Management Accountant

Reporting To: Senior Finance Manager
Salary: £27,000 per annum + study support
Holidays: 20 days annual leave + statutory holidays (rising to 23 days after service)

About the Role

We are currently supporting an established business based in Droitwich who need an Assistant Management Accountant to join the finance team and support the timely preparation of monthly management accounts. You will help ensure accuracy across accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and stakeholder reporting. This role offers exposure to budgeting, audit preparation, and internal financial queries, with room to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing monthly management accounts to meet group reporting deadlines
  • Prepare prepayments and accrual entries for month-end
  • Act as first point of contact for internal finance-related queries, liaising with the Management Accountant and Finance Manager when needed
  • Undertake balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Ensure information accuracy through robust checks and controls
  • Support year-end audit preparations and liaise with external auditors as directed
  • Generate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to annual budget setting alongside Financial Planning and Finance Manager
  • Perform ad hoc finance duties as required to support the team

Candidate Profile

  • Currently studying towards AAT or part‑qualified by experience
  • Prior exposure to management accounts preferred, though not essential
  • Strong data accuracy and organisational skills, with high attention to detail
  • Excellent time management—able to meet tight deadlines effectively
  • Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets and comfortable working with large datasets
  • Excellent communication with strong stakeholder management across non‑finance teams
  • Able to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multi-functional team
