Financial Accounting Manager

Kidderminster 45K - 55K Contract

Are you an experienced qualified accountant looking for your next leadership role? We are seeking a Financial Accounting Manager to join our clients Head Office finance team in Kidderminster. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of key financial processes, lead a dedicated team, and play an integral role in supporting our continued growth and performance. Initially being offered on a 6 month fixed term contract.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of year-end financial accounts including:
    • Balance sheet reconciliations and lead schedules
    • Supporting documentation and auditor liaison
    • Attendance at Annual General Meeting
  • Manage online banking and act as primary bank contact
  • Review and approve BACS and ad hoc payments, including payroll
  • Oversee month-end close in collaboration with the Management Accountant
  • General ledger and balance sheet oversight
  • Bank reconciliation and cash management reporting
  • VAT return preparation and submission to HMRC
  • Oversee new supplier setup and approval
  • Lead and develop processes across:
    • Purchase Ledger
    • Sales Ledger
    • Income Management
    • General Ledger
    • Payroll

Key Accountabilities

  • Daily monitoring and forecasting of cash flow to ensure overdraft compliance
  • Ensuring finance processes and controls are followed and communicated effectively
  • Accurate recognition of multiple income streams across reporting cycles
  • Delivery of timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Supporting continuous improvement of systems and processes alongside the Head of Finance
  • Developing the capability of the financial accounting team

Qualifications & Experience

  • CCAB-qualified accountant (or equivalent)
  • Advanced IT skills including Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrable experience leading and developing a finance team
