Quality Manager

Watford 65K - 72K Permanent

Job Reference: 13680VA

If you’re motivated by improving how projects are delivered, not just how they’re audited — and you believe quality should drive performance, not paperwork — please read on.

Quality Manager - Infrastructure | Civils | Major Projects

Hertfordshire (hybrid – weekly presence)

This is not a desk-based compliance role.

We’re looking for a delivery-led Quality leader who can set direction, raise standards, and energise operational teams across a complex infrastructure business.

You’ll be the person who bridges management systems and site reality — someone who understands ISO standards and audits, but whose real strength is influencing delivery teams, improving ways of working, and embedding quality where it actually matters.

The Opportunity

You’ll take ownership of the Business Quality Strategy, shaping both culture and capability across live infrastructure projects. Working closely with project and regional leadership, you’ll drive consistency, coach Quality Managers, and ensure quality is seen as an enabler of delivery, not a blocker.

This role has real visibility, real influence, and genuine scope to leave a legacy.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading and embedding a business-wide Quality strategy
  • Driving quality culture, engagement, and ownership across delivery teams
  • Supporting and developing Quality Managers and future talent
  • Translating management systems and standards into practical, site-ready processes
  • Owning audit programmes, digital quality standards, and best practice
  • Acting as a trusted advisor during project mobilisation and complex quality issues
  • Building strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Providing quality input into bids and pre-construction where needed

What We’re Looking For

  • A senior Quality professional from construction / infrastructure
  • Strong operational credibility — comfortable engaging with site and delivery teams
  • Background in Lean, CI, or operational quality improvement is highly desirable
  • Deep understanding of management systems, standards, and assurance
  • Energy, presence, and passion for quality — you lead through influence, not enforcement
  • Formal qualification in construction or quality (CQI / Chartered pathway a plus)
