Senior Accounts Manager

We are supporting a key client who requires an experienced Senior Accounts / Tax Manager to join there ever-growing business. Working closely with the Directors, you will be responsible for the management of a portfolio of clients, including Limited Companies, Sole Traders, Partnerships and individuals. Will also be required to carry out preparation of Self-Assessment Tax Returns, so knowledge and experience of this will also be required.

In this role you will be responsible for the management of junior and other staff members, so the ability to delegate and review work is essential.

The Role

As Senior Accounts & Tax Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a diverse client portfolio, including Limited Companies, Sole Traders, Partnerships, and individuals. You will provide end-to-end accounting and tax services while acting as a trusted adviser to your clients.

You will also play an important leadership role, delegating work, reviewing output, and supporting the development of junior and other staff members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, acting as the main point of contact
  • Prepare statutory accounts and ensure compliance with reporting and disclosure requirements
  • Prepare Corporation Tax computations and returns
  • Prepare and review Self-Assessment Tax Returns for individuals and partnerships
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns
  • Oversee bookkeeping and financial records
  • Provide end-to-end business management services, including:
    • Bookkeeping and financial oversight
    • Cash flow management
    • Payment processing and banking transactions
  • Coordinate tax filings and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance
  • Carry out company secretarial duties
  • Delegate, manage, and review the work of junior staff
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold the highest professional and ethical standards

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working within an accountancy practice
  • Strong technical knowledge of current accounting and tax legislation
  • Proven experience preparing Self-Assessment Tax Returns
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Confident communicator, able to advise and build strong client relationships
  • Experience using Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage (essential)
