Job Reference: 893065KK

I am currently working exclusively with one of the largest NHS Teaching Trusts in the country as they look to appoint a Divisional Finance Manager for their corporate division.

Nottingham University Hospitals are one of the biggest employers in the city with a central role in supporting the health and wellbeing of the local population. They play a leading role in research, education and innovation.

The corporate financial management team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking to appoint a Divisional Finance Manager to join their busy department. They are looking for a well-motivated, ambitious, articulate and organised individual who enjoys being kept busy and has good attention to detail whilst under pressure. If this sounds like you then you could be the person they are looking for to help them deliver an excellent service.

The Divisional Finance Manager position is a dual facing role supporting the corporate operational teams, as well as managing the corporate finance team and contributing to the effective running of the Financial Management department. The Divisional Finance Manager will have joint line management responsibility for a team of 5 qualified and part qualified accountants. The post-holder will be expected to build effective relationships with a wide scope of Operational Managers and Healthcare Professionals to understand the intricacies of their different operating models.

Summary of key responsibilities:

  • To prepare financial reports and develop financial plans on behalf of the Trust’s Corporate division, including taking the lead responsibility for reporting a robust in year and projected year-end financial position for the division at all levels, reporting financial information to the division, the service lines (business units) and departments as well as to individual budget holders
  • To provide financial advice and reports to the Divisional Director, General Manager, and the wider Divisional Leadership Team.
  • To be an integral part of the Divisional Leadership Team
  • To provide advice to the Director of Finance and senior Corporate finance team members on a range of issues relevant to the Division and the Trust as a whole

The successful candidate will be a CCAB qualified accountant with 3-5 years of post-qualification experience and with a demonstrable record of working in a varied and fast paced environment. The Divisional Finance Manager position would ideally suit someone with NHS experience looking to progress to the next level, or someone from the private sector looking to make a transition into the NHS.

This role will predominantly be based at Trust HQ, City Campus, however home working arrangements are in place whilst the Trust manages its response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
