We are looking for an interim Operations Manager to oversee the Operations, Production and Purchasing function which will see you be responsible for maximising manufacturing efficiencies, for the purpose of meeting the demands of the growing production/manufacturing requirements.

You will be tasked with overseeing day to day operations whilst focusing on delivering rapid and consistent operational improvements to ensure that the business delivers on time in full, to budget, to quality standards, to the customer's expectations, and with the most effective use of the company's resources.

You will ensure the right level of training to all the member of your team and be responsible for any issues related. You will work closely with the owner to create a culture of best practice and knowledge share.

Duties and Experience will include but not limited to:

  • Manage suppliers purchasing and negotiating of prices within budget
  • Monitoring ingredients commodity pricing trends to aid in forward buying and pricing negotiations
  • Strong management experience
  • Ability to pull production forecasts together with Line Manager to schedule efficient production schedules based on demand and rate of sale
  • Experience of NPD process to rapidly bring new concepts to market working with Marketing Project managers, Line Managers and the sales team to create concepts and samples
  • A proven track record of management of Production & Operations in the food industry for high quality and volume paced Manufacturing environment highly desirable
  • A proven track record of Continuous Improvement achievements (quantified) within a Manufacturing and Production environment
  • A proven track record of improving process efficiency and product quality
  • An effective communication style with highly developed interpersonal skills - a strong collaborator with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels.
  • Ideally degree qualified within an engineering / manufacturing field
  • A decision maker capable of operating at a strategic level
  • Ability to implement KPI's and Control Plan measurements
