Interim Temporary Staffing Manager (8a), Immediate Start, NHS Trust

Role Summary:

  • To develop and lead implementation of the Trust’s temporary staffing strategy
  • To develop and lead an integrated temporary staffing function
  • To operationally manage the temporary staffing  function
  • To streamline booking and payment processes to ensure maximum efficiency and cost reduction
  • To ensure that the supply of staff from the temporary staffing bank is sufficient and able to meet the needs of services
  • To advise senior managers about ways to reduce  temporary staffing spend
  • To manage external agency contracts associated with the supply of temporary staffing
  • To provide reports to the Workforce Committee and Board of Directors on the use of temporary staffing


  • Extensive knowledge of Bankstaff
  • Knowledge of NHSI agency rules
  • Understanding of Procurement rules and knowledge of framework agreements
  • Team Management experience
  • HR Casework management experience
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to multi task
  • Ability to work independently and organise own workload and co-ordinate the team
  • Work to deadlines
  • Knowledge of Bankstaff/Temp staffing an advantage
  • Understanding of Agenda for Change rules and acute trust working practices
  • Excellent IT literacy and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manipulate and run reports and provide narrative analysis
