We are working closely with a large NHS Hospital requiring a Senior Category Manager to join their team. Reporting into the Head of the Procurement, the role will be responsible for leading and taking responsibility for a delegated clinical category or categories which have a value of circa twenty million to thirty million pounds of annual expenditure.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Developing the clinical procurement strategy and implementing strategic sourcing and strong stakeholder management to maintain the lowest costs and strengthen existing relationships with key suppliers
Reviewing, negotiating, re- negotiating and drafting contracts, delivering savings targets to support the performance improvement programme
Leading strategic sourcing programmes for defined clinical categories
Leading the procurement process by delivering a portfolio of complex and/or high value contracts
Successful candidates will be required to have MCIPS (or equivalent experience) and to have evidence of continuing professional development. Furthermore you should have expertise in developing procurement strategy and mid to long term operational plans, and a proven track record of delivering cost reductions.
